Covert Operation
Kent turned 30 on Friday. To celebrate, he and I went to a Golden State Warriors vs. Mavericks game. Unbeknownst to him, his best friends, father and sister were already at the stadium waiting for him.
It was a layered surprise. Steve, Miles, Brian, Chris and Katy were in the seats when we got there. Dad showed up right after the game started. Heather and her boyfriend came by a bit after that. Icing on the cake - his mom got "Happy Birthday Kent" put up on the jumbotron during half-time.
It was one of the best sneaky surprise events I've ever done. Kent was super shocked - he really had no idea. I was super grateful that so many people flew into SF for the weekend, and we all had a blast.
The game was followed by some roasting, toasting and storytelling (and lots of drinks) at a bar in SF. Saturday we had drinks down at Beach Chalet overlooking the ocean, then dinner and a party in my neighborhood.
This morning, we had breakfast together, then Kent took the boys to the airport, while Chris, Katy, Brian and I went to the DeYoung. (I'm a member now. Add free art to the list of reasons you should come visit me.)
After some slices of leftover ice cream cake, I dropped them off at the airport.
We all had a great weekend, especially Kent.
Looking forward to seeing pics from the rest of the crew. My small collection only captures part of our weekend.
